I'm also seeing this a lot.  I use the  ATI driver and run full screen
gnome-terminal sessions, all running screen.  I switch between virtual
desktops a lot and it only happens when I switch and will go away on a
redraw (i.e. pressing ctrl-l in the terminal).

I'm attaching a screenshot that shows an example of the corruption I
get.  The actual window is a dselect session, so it's the whole lower
half of the screen which is corrupt.  The toolbar appears to be from my
galeon session running on desktop 4, and the parts of the email you can
see are from a (remote) gnus session running on a terminal on desktop 2.
