Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-panel
It is similar to bug #211743, yet it affects only some remote files.
Having opened a local "any file" I get a nice "any file" item at the top of
Places | Recent Documents.
If the file is located on a SMB server (say: Windows 2003), the item in Recent
Docs is "smb:any%20file"** and the story begins, ie. the associations get lost:
*.txt, *.jpg, *.png -- OK.
*.odt files are launched with File Roller (instead of OOo). If I remove
their associations with "File Roller" and "Mounting archive", the file
opens fine. Having "File Roller" back in associations (NOT as default
one!) I get files opened with it.
*.pdf and *.od[gs] are opened in gedit, although there is NO such
association.
** As for the file names: it is confusing for anybody using more than ASCII. Is
it easy to guess, that "%C5%A0%C5%A4%C5%98%C4%82%C5%87%C4%9E%C4%9A" is just
"ŠŤŘĂŇĞĚ" ?
