Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: vlc
This is being reported under VLC but I suspect it is in the network
interface driver.
On network streaming via UDP or RTP, packets are sent out the interface
for approx 10s then they stop being transmitted. VLC continues to act
like it is streaming. When the streaming is stopped in VLC, the
transmit buffer is released and an additional quantity of packets hits
the network. I verified the packets both hitting the network interface
and stopping via tcpdump.
I believe VLC is working correctly as the streaming works in the same
Ubuntu version when it is run in a VMware environment and the network
driver is VMware's virtual interface and also the same VLC version works
correctly in windows.
Ubuntu version 10.10 Beta. All updates found by the Update Manager are
installed.
