Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: grub2
I've seen this happen several times now doing Wubi installs of 64bit
10.04.1.
out of about 10 installs I did this weekend, only one or two actually
worked completely, with grub showing both Linux and Windows entries at
boot time (after selecting Ubuntu from the NT Loader list).
The remaining times, the Grub menu shows the Windows entries but doesn't
show any Linux entry, forcing me to drop to a grub shell and manually
enter the info to boot into Ubuntu 10.04.1.
FWIW, the grub menu after the first stage of the install (the part done
inside Windows) shows a version of 1.98-1ubuntu6 in the menu. After
completing the installation and booting, the menu still says
1.98-1ubuntu6, but dpkg shows grub-common and grub-pc versions of
1.98-1ubuntu7.
I get the following wiht grub-script-check and actually running
10_linux:
u...@ubuntu:/etc/grub.d$ ./10_linux
