Public bug reported:

Suspend/resume worked well on my Dell Latitude D600 on karmic. The
upgrade to lucid broke the resume process. On resume the hdd led lights
shortly and the cdrom drive starts to spin. Then, nothing else happens.
The issue remains in maverick rc.

The issue occurred on all lucid kernels as well as on maverick
2.6.35-22.33 and mainline 2.6.36-020636rc6. The pm_trace method showed a
similar behavior for all kernels:

[ 0.708478] Magic number: 0:990:725
