I'm almost certain I have resolved this issue by using the following commands:
sudo update-grub-from-legacy sudo aptitude install grub-pc sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get dist-upgrade Now everything seems happy. I won't know for sure until I reboot. Before I reboot, though I'd like to answer your questions in case they may still be of some help. I followed the instructions posted here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MaverickUpgrades/Kubuntu opting to install over the internet. Any dialogs that offer to keep my config or install the package maintainers version, I choose the latter after making a backup of my custom config file. I don't recall anything grub specific, though. -- grub-pc failed during upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10 [kubuntu] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/654651 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
