So let me just get this right - you recorded the conffile fine in 8.04
using lirc 0.8.3, but recording from 0.8.7 in 10.10 there are problems?
Does the remote perform entirely correctly using that conffile from
0.8.3 in 8.04 on 10.10? If so, then that sounds like a regression
specifically in irrecord.
