thanks for the bug report. in Maverick rhythmbox is shown in the sound
menu. its media buttons, artwork etc. if you want rhythmbox status icon.
click on edit>plugins tick 'status icon' checkbox (if its not already
ticked). click configure, there in the status icon drop down select
'always visible' and rhythmbox will be shown in the notification area.
