Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: openoffice.org
if you start oo and load any file (*.doc, odt,...) the first time, the
app will get gray for some secs and then it will load the file. This
could take up to 30 sec.
If you have loaded the first file, any file which you open afterwards
will be faster without graying out the app.
On the web, I found, the that if you disconnect from the network, the
file will load on the first time fast.
So using wireshark I fund that oo trys to mak a DNS lookup for "knuffel.(none)"
where knuffel is the hostname (/etc/hostname).
So adding th entry knuffel.(none) to /etc/hosts after "127.0.0.1 localhost
localhost.localdmain knuffel.(none)" the firstime load is fast as expected.
I experienced this behaviour on different computers.
Maybe this is a ubuntu install issue as well??
