Public bug reported:

I was trying to install Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit and when I came across the option
of detecting keyboard then it hanged for a loooong time.
I choose to quit so it booted me to Live environment.
There I again clicked on Install Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit then again while
detecting keyboard it hanged and this error came.

ubi-partman failed with exit code 141.Further information may be found in
/var/log/syslog.
Do you want to try running this step again before continuing?
If you do not your installation may fail entirely or may be broken.

Here is the log of /var/log/partman
