Binary package hint: kdebase
After rebooting, I get the login screen, but when I try to login I get
up to the globe icon, but not the desktop or KDE icon, and the system
just hangs. If I try to login using failsafe mode, the screen looks
screwed up and then sends me back to the login screen. I can log into
another account, but it has no sudo privileges, so cannot do much there.
I logged into my account for command line using ctrl-alt-F1. Changed my
home directory to chmod o+w and o+x, since I had similar problems a few
years ago. No go. I removed the .kde directory from home, but no go.
Uninstalled mpd, since a brief warning flashed about this before the
login screen returned. Still no luck.
