I hate to disagree with you here. This works fine when 10.10 is running as a vm on top of windows on the same system. Same network connection, hardware, cpu, etc etc. When this is happening is when Ubuntu 10.10 is running natively on the hardware. The only difference is as a vm, the hardware is all virtualized to Ubuntu.
So the question is, why does it work in a vm and not natively when it has full control of the hardware?
