I too started having this problem with the Feisty beta.
I'd love to help diagnose/debug on IRC if it will help the devs out. I'm
newz2000. I can confirm that this was working in Edgy (but not in
Dapper).
when inserting a card, dmesg says:

You'd think that means its working.
