Hi, I have the same problem since I've upgraded to Maverick. (Linux 2.6.35-22) The upgrades don't work anymore after the machine has been up for some time, so I can upgrade when I've just powered my laptop on. If I run other applications, do my stuff for a few hours, any upgrade with apt and dpkg will hang while unpacking. When this occurs, the dpkg process hangs in an uninterruptible state in the iterate_supers channel. At this point, it is impossible to reboot the machine unless you make a hard reboot.
