I am using karmic, and lscpi shows an atheros ar5001, and the ath5k driver works. i have a toshiba u305-s7448 notebook. kernel is 2.6.31-22-generic.
Just a thought: have you guys tried sudo rmmod ath5k, then sudo modprobe ath5k, then see if you can get access to wireless? sudo lshw -C network might also shed some light on how the system is treating the device and if the driver (module) is loaded. -- wi-fi recognized but sometimes is not enabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/459625 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
