I have reinstalled Ubuntu 10.04 since and all is good. However, I have
downloaded Ubuntu 10.10 and tried to boot the Live CD. I get to the
point where I have the Ubuntu logo with dots under it. It blinks through
the dots for a little while then it just hangs. Not a big issue since I
like Ubuntu 10.04 LTS very much. I am running on an HP pavilion zv5000.

Status in “gdm” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete

Bug description:
Binary package hint: grub

I just ran Upgrade Manager and now Ubuntu 10.04 will not allow me to log
in. The system boots to the point that it asks me to log in then it
won't allow me to log in. I used to have it set to auomatically log in
now it asks for my password and it dose not except my correct password.
Note there was a kernal update in the update manager.
