It seems to me like this would be a bug with the yenta_socket driver or
udev more than with NM, especially since drivers are not getting
removed...

Unfortunately, it seems that since this bug was reported against
network-manager, only NM-specific data is available in the syslog
capture that was automatically added.

Could you attach a copy of the /var/log/syslog file (possibly removing
any sensitive data) after reproducing the issue? Ideally this should be
done from a clean boot; and it would help us greatly if you could
annotate the log to tell us what action was taken when.

To do this, you can follow the steps in
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingNetworkManager#Capture%20Log on how to
generate a capture log and using 'logger' to add annotations.
