Was filing a bug for the existing power-manager plugin in Rhythmbox and noticed this bug marked "wishlist". Given the existence of code in Rhythmbox that is supposed to do this but doesn't is worth bumping the priority up a bit? Without looking at the current code, my guess is the same dbus update that broke a python rhythmbox plugin I use also effected this one.
