Gah, I just can't seem to find another master bug for this issue, but there's enough information here to make this the "master" bug for the "STA is broken and won't give me good signal strength indications in Lucid" issue :)
FWIW, there's a fix upstream here: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/NetworkManager/NetworkManager/commit/?id=4880cc68b2e1a6580f30318c660c2f669b8f5708 All that's needed is to make really sure that backporting this to Lucid will fix the problem, so I'll prepare a PPA package for this issue so it can be quickly tested before uploading to lucid-proposed for further testing and verification. Marking as importance Medium since it's hardware-specific but it does affect a fair amount of users, since this driver/hardware is pretty frequent. ** Also affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Mathieu Trudel (mathieu-tl) ** Changed in: network-manager-applet (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- My wireless is working fine, but I'm always seeing the red excalamtion point icon indicating there's a problem... I'd really like to easily view signal strength. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/591424 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
