Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: synaptic
Ubuntu 10.10
Synaptic 0.63.1ubuntu14
Following initial install of Ubuntu 10.10, any attempt to use Synaptic
to do any addition where dependencies exist is excruciatingly slow.
Time to process Ruby-full package > 3 minutes to determine dependencies.
Time to cancel Ruby-Full installation from dependency screen > 2
minutes.
It appears that this time can be sped up if the applications lose focus
to a full screen application, and are then granted focus again.
