Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it without more information.

When you turn on your computer and the grub menu appears, choose the
most recent kernel, press 'e' to edit the boot commands for that kernel
entry. Delete 'quiet' and 'splash' from entry and press Ctrl+x to
execute the boot command. Look at the log entries for any reference to
your hard disk drive, /dev/sdX, post any relevant comments here.

If you are able to boot onto your computer please include the
information requested at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingHardwareDetection as separate
attachments, and include all the items in /var/log/dist-upgrade/
