This is likely to be a duplicate of #492782, since the symptoms are the
same: in some situations the cursor carret disappears but when you move
the mouse you can still see icons highlited etc (invisible mouse).
Jumping to a console and back usualy makes the carret reapper
(Ctrl+Alt+F1, Ctrl+Alt+F7).
