Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: update-manager
Description: Ubuntu 10.10
Release: 10.10
Installed: 1:0.142.20
Candidate: 1:0.142.20
Version table:

When installing updates from this version of update manager, after it displays
the dialogue for password and receives a valid response followed by a carriage
return (which activates the default button), a new dialogue appears with no
input box. This has to be closed manually, as pressing the authenticate button
does nothing.
After the update finishes, the program then seems to hang in the build
of the structures. The progress bar goes all the way to the right, and
then nothing happens for several minutes.
This package was not broken, and worked fine before. Why did you 'fix'
it?
Until you do something about this, I am going to use the terminal to do updates.
There are enough little annoyances in this release to make me consider a
different distro from a different group.
