Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: vlc

Reproducable on my system this way:

 * activate desktop effects
 * start vlc
 * switch output plugin to "OpenGL"
 * start playing a video file

VLC first gets stuck and then disapeares, showing not a single picture
(but resizing its window)

VLC plays great with XVideo or SDL output plugin... just some minor
glinches with black spots when using those two with desktop effects
enabled.

Video Driver is "i810" on a (lspci output follows) 00:02.0 VGA
compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics
Device (rev 02)

Reproduction on other systems is not tested, due to another ubuntu
system 7.04 missing ;)

So long and thanks for all the fish,

            Joel

P.S: will try that without desktop effects tomorrow
