There was an update that came in over the last two weeks that "regress" the backports for me. So I went back to an earlier version. Can you try installing this version from the Synaptic Package Manager: "linux- backports-modules-compat-wireless-2.6.34-2.6.32-25-generic" and so far so good. Can you try this version and see if it helps you?
