@ Jeppe, i don't know when the v2.6.36 kernel go into ubuntu, but it's very simple to put it in : 1 - Download in a repertory, for exempel "Kernel": linux-headers-2.6.36-020636rc7-generic_2.6.36-020636rc7.201010070908_i386.deb linux-headers-2.6.36-020636rc7_2.6.36-020636rc7.201010070908_all.deb linux-image-2.6.36-020636rc7-generic_2.6.36-020636rc7.201010070908_i386.deb (if you have 32 bits) 2 - in a terminal: cd Kernel sudo dpkg -i *.deb 3 - you can reboot without acpi=off in grub
