@ Jeppe, i don't know when the v2.6.36 kernel go into ubuntu, but it's very
simple to put it in :
1 - Download in a repertory, for exempel "Kernel":
linux-headers-2.6.36-020636rc7-generic_2.6.36-020636rc7.201010070908_i386.deb
linux-headers-2.6.36-020636rc7_2.6.36-020636rc7.201010070908_all.deb
linux-image-2.6.36-020636rc7-generic_2.6.36-020636rc7.201010070908_i386.deb
(if you have 32 bits)
2 - in a terminal:
cd Kernel
sudo dpkg -i *.deb
3 - you can reboot without acpi=off in grub
