Hi, I seem to have the same (or related) problem with a Dell Latitude e6410 (core i5 M560) using its DisplayPort (through a DisplayPort to Dual-link DVI adapter) to connect a LG-W3000H at 2560x1600. I get these messages:
[ 47.741112] [drm:drm_edid_block_valid] *ERROR* EDID checksum is invalid, remainder is 99 [ 47.741114] [drm:drm_edid_block_valid] *ERROR* Raw EDID: [ 47.741115] <3>4c 4c 4c ff ff ff ff ff 4c 4c 4c ff ff ff ff ff LLL.....LLL..... I tried two (cause I was not sure which one would be the best): linux- image-2.6.36-020636rc8-generic_2.6.36-020636rc8.201010150908_amd64.deb: both laptop and external screen completely blank. The system did boot it seemed, based on harddisk activity i hear. linux-image-2.6.36-997-generic_2.6.36-997.201010090908_amd64.deb: latop booted, initially some screen flickering, but then progressed normally. But the problem of the external display is not solved. This is my xrandr output: Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1440 x 900, maximum 8192 x 8192 VGA1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) DP1 connected 1440x900+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 303mm x 189mm 1440x900 60.0*+ 40.0 HDMI1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) DP2 connected 1360x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 0mm x 0mm 1360x768 59.8* 1024x768 60.0 800x600 60.3 56.2 848x480 60.0 640x480 59.9 59.9 HDMI2 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) DP3 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) If any other info can help, or when i can test another kernel, please let me know. -- DRM: Invalid EDID Checksum - External Monitor DVI -D not recognized by Kernel / Intel Graphisc Driver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/657509 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
