I don't see how. Steps to reproduce the bug: 1) Turn on system 2)Open cd tray and insert installation cd, close 3)Observe splash screen for install 4)Observe screen change to mild garbage and system become unresponsive to keyboard or mouse inputs.
Note that for 10.04, step 4) would be to select install 10.04 LTS Note that the same thing happened for Xubuntu and Mythbuntu mavericks.
