Same here on an IBM Stinkpad T60. 10.04 would suspend/resume for months on end. 10.10 resume leaves me with (in no particular order, it's random):
1) a completely black screen 2) bounced back to a terminal complaining about hot-add adding a device that's already added 3) xscreensaver login - completely hung and only a magic alt + shift + sysreq + k will unlock it. This is desperately annoying as we're trying to push ubuntu in our enterprise.
