This bug was not an issue for me, it occurred when I upgraded online from 8.04 to 10.04 and was asked to file a bug. I did not follow it up but now I find that Rhythmbox is installed and working normally on 10.04. When I checked in 10.10 (Maverick) Rhythmbox was not installed so I have installed it and it appears to be working normally. 10.10 was an online upgrade from 10.04. As far as I am concerned the bug can be closed.
