I believe I'm seeing this same bug. Mirrored both screens show the full visable area. Non-mirrored, 1 or both screens show only part of the area that should be visible. A work-around (although very much not ideal) for me seems to be to position the laptop screen below the external screen in the layout. However, it should be to the side (same as the relative position of the screens on my desk).
