Does reverting the tsched workaround and using the latest daily build
(which contains fixes) of the sound driver help? Note that you may need
to append "options snd-hda-intel position_fix=3" to /etc/modprobe.d
/alsa-base.conf and reboot. Please see
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/UpgradingAlsa.
*Note that the position_fix=3 parameter is ONLY valid for the latest
daily build of the sound driver.*
