@Daniel: My laptop has Dolby 5.1 speakers, but as per output, I guess only Front Left and Front Right are working, I also tested with some of my DVDs right now, and as I guessed, only 2 channels are working. I also checked the 'Profile' menu of my sound preferences. it is also showing options only for stereo output, it used to show 5.1 channels when sound didn't worked.
