Hello Vostro 3700 - Users and specially Christian, It's really unpossible to work with this bug. After a long search I have found a workaround that works at least for me. But attention: You are loosing the suspend and hybernate-functions. Install the package "laptop-mode-tools". The packages acpi-support and pm-utils will be removed.
Then, with using sudo in the /etc/default/acpi-support write or copy the following lines at the end: # Switch to laptop-mode on battery power - off by default as it causes odd # Hangs on some machines ENABLE_LAPTOP_MODE = true Then change the Laptop-Mode on Battery with sudo in the /etc/laptop-mode/laptop-mode.conf to 1 like here: ENABLE_LAPTOP_MODE_ON_BATTERY = 1 Restart the computer and it should work.
