Public bug reported:

my nm-applet and my network connection randomly stop working after
certain period of time.

the nm-applet icon disappeared and my network connection disconnected

issued command : nm-applet to restart network but no IP assigned

need to :
 
 sudo modprobe -r iwl3945
 sudo modprobe iwl3945
 nm-applet

then my network restarted with IP

im using Ubuntu 10.10

my network manager version

network-manager:
