Public bug reported:

HP All-in-One 200

Three operating systems on three separate partitions. - Windows 7,
Ubuntu 10.04, Ubuntu 10.10

No problems encountered with the Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.04. "Shutdown"
and "Restart" work very well.

With Ubuntu 10.10, when "Shutdown" or "Restart" is selected, the
computer freezes. I then must press the computer ON/OFF button to shut
down.

When I elect to use the terminal command, "$ sudo shutdown -h now " ,
Ubuntu 10.10 shuts down properly, with no problems.

When I select "Shut Down" , "Restart", "Hibernate", or "Suspend", Ubuntu
10.10 instantly freezes. No messages, no indicators of any sort.

Kernel = 2.6.35-22-generic-pae

With respect to updates. I had this problem immediately after installing
Ubuntu 10.10 prior to allowing any updates. I reinstalled and allowed
the updates, plus I installed any updates that occurred afterward.
Either way, with or without updates, the problem occurs.

As indicated above, , this "freeze up" occurs if I attempt "Hibernate"
and "Suspend". I never use these two options but thought it might be
helpful to someone to know this.
