Just to add some comments, as I helped Gunnar with this problem:

-always reproductible, just boot the laptop, and the CPU will be used by
events/1 on one processor core

-the only way to get rid of this is to deactivate the network
-some researches online lead us to the ethernet driver, an Intel 82566MM 
Gigabit Network Connection. 
-we blacklisted the e1000e module, now no more problem...
