Public bug reported: Binary package hint: shotwell
Today I took a series of photos of a boy riding a scooter. I used my camera's Sport mode, which can shoot around 3 - 4 frames per second. When I loaded them into Shotwell, I noticed that a number of photos were incorrectly sorted; frames that I shot later appeared earlier in the sequence and vice versa. Looking at the metadata, each photo is time stamped only to the nearest second, so to Shotwell, images taken in quick succession (in the same second) appear to have been taken at the same time; it has no way to distinguish which was actually taken first. I think one solution to this issue would be to sort by file name if images have identical time stamps. I think most cameras create sequential file names - mine has IMG_4145.JPG...IMG4145.JPG and so forth for example. ** Affects: shotwell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Sorting enhancement for images taken in quick succession https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/664949 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
