Likely this is a result of 64-bit problems in the X server for tightvnc-1.3.9. If you can grab / build 1.3.10 source from sourceforge project, it may clear that up. Or, possibly grab 1.3.9 source package and try to apply patch http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2570977&group_id=14067&atid=314067 and then build.
