Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-panel
Fresh install Ubuntu 10.10.
Upon the first opening of sound preferences the old style karmic
gnome-volume-control-applet is displayed in
the notification area and remains when sound preferences is closed.
If the gnome-volume-control-applet process is ended via the System Monitor, it
doesn't show up with
subsequent openings of sound preferences.
