15 days and no activity on this bug. There's been a couple of kernel
updates but the issue persists:

If I run iotop rsyslogd is constantly at the top and I can hear my HDD
constantly running. I have to continue to run on a much older 2.6.32
kernel I found in a PPA. Is this issue being addressed?
