On Ubuntu 10.10, Gwibber 2.32.0.1, resolution in comment 36 did not
work, but the resolution in #51 did. After the edit, Gwibber needs to
be shut down and restarted.
For the benefit of the non-tech community who found this thread by
searching and don't know how to edit the hosts file:
>From the applications menu, choose the "Accessories" menu and then "terminal."
type:
sudo gedit /etc/hosts
If prompted for your password, enter it
If you see:
127.0.1.1 [Name of Your System]
Edit that number to read 127.0.0.1
Save and close the file
(Exit the terminal)
Shut down Gwibber and restart
