The upstream bug report claims this to have been fixed, but I'm still experiencing this with an up to date maverick installation. In fact this has been broken for me since lucid. There's also https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=605217 which might be related, though it doesn't work at all in list view.
