Binary package hint: php5-mcrypt
This bug only affects error logging (unfortunately I don't remember what
log file reported the problem), but should be extremely easy to fix.
The comment in /etc/php5/conf.d/mcrypt.ini is:

but should be:
; configuration for php MCrypt module
