When you do a search it searched in the directory you were in when you hit the search button. For example if I open nautilus and go to the /bin folder and search for "skype", it will be searching for files with the word skype in the /bin folder. The search will not go into any other folder like /etc , /home , /lib. It *can* search into other folders located within /bin though.
I cannot find the folders you are referring to when you say "Image (1), Audio (2), Video (3), Document (10)".
