I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 with kernel 2.6.32-25-generic-pae. My motherboard is a Gigabyte EX58-UD5.
This problem on shutdown wasn't native on my configuration for Ubuntu 10.04. It appear after some update, about one month ago I think. And it's not related with the splash graphical login/logout. Indeed removing "quiet splash" from GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT doesn't resolve the problem... it still hang on "Will now halt" Instead, in my case, as reported in comment #10, adding acpi=force to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT worked. -- ubuntu 10.04 hangs on shutdown splash https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/567580 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
