I have an Asus Eee PC 1015 with a Realtek ALC269 as well, but I've been able to fix my audio problem. My symptoms were * sound from the PC speakers (ok) * no sound in headphones when connected via headphones (problem)
I followed the wiki instructions linked in post #11 by Luke, and after rebooting, I was able to hear sound from both the speakers as well as when using headphones (and with headphones plugged in, the PC speakers mute as they should). The package that was current when I followed the instructions was: Package: linux-alsa-driver-modules-2.6.32-25-generic State: installed Automatically installed: no Version: 2.6.32-25.201010271600 Priority: optional Section: admin Maintainer: Ubuntu Kernel Team <[email protected]> Uncompressed Size: 7,590k Depends: linux-image-2.6.32-25-generic PreDepends: dpkg (>= 1.10.24) Conflicts: linux-backports-modules-alsa-2.6.32-25-generic Replaces: linux-backports-modules-alsa-2.6.32-25-generic Description: Ubuntu-supplied Linux modules for version 2.6.32-25-generic ALSA snapshots This package contains modules supplied by Ubuntu for Linux 2.6.32-25-generic ALSA snapshots from http://kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/tiwai/snapshot/alsa-driver-snapshot.t ar.bz2 You likely do not want to install this package directly. Instead, install the linux-alsa-driver-modules-lucid-generic meta-package, which will ensure that upgrades work correctly and that supporting packages are also installed. -- No sound card after kernel 2.6.32-24 update https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/617158 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
