Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: amsn

Why is 0.98.3 still packaged with Maverick? It had the same bug with Lucid,
which was well known to the developers. They fixed it. I compiled 0.99. It
works, without this bug.
The bug is that every time I connect on the MSN network using aMSN, windows to
add all of my contact pop up and I have to click on "Cancel" 50 times. The
solution was to compile straight from source, early into the Lucid days. Just
prepare packages for the newer version and release them.
Compiling this particular package isn't a straight-forward process and it takes
a few tweaks to make it work. I don't mind it, but your typical "like Windows,
but it works" Ubuntu user typically couldn't.

1) Running Maverick AMD64
2) Package version: 0.98.3-2ubuntu1
3) I expected for a newer version to be bundled with Maverick, a newer version
that doesn't give me a popup window to add every contact that I already added
(and I have dozens of contacts)
4) What happened was that Maverick still has the buggy old 0.98.3 where popup
windows for each contact that I already added opens

This is not a huge issue to me. I can deal with it.. But amsn was one of
the main reasons I finally made the switch from Windows and a major draw
for my converts. If it's not working right, you have a major usability
issue.
