Uh oh! I've not had need to compile or use xdtv recently ie under Maverick but the dropping of ALSA OSS is news to me and totally crazy if true. Why oh why? First it was the silly icons on the left issue which I wasn't really that bothered about (using OSX and alternative wm's too sometimes), then it was this Unity netbook GUI fork of GNOME they plan to make their default soon and now this which is the worst offence yet! Thankfully we still have Debian, Arch, openSUSE, Gentoo, Fedora... buntu seems to be slowing destroying itself now. As you say, users of a desktop-orientated OS should not have to re-compile a kernel to gain a basic multimedia function. -- [needs-packaging] xdtv aka xawdecode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/155764 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
