Status in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I upgraded my ubuntu (debian)from 10.04 to 10.10. Now when I start my ubuntu it gives a message asking for partial upgrade , when I click on partial upgrade update manager appears and disappear after few seconds and If I cancel upgrade it gives massage that software index is broken open terminal and type sudo-apt install-f (not remberering the command exactly presently)it asks for password & then is unable to repair/update/upgrade.Presently I am not in a position to add or remove the software in my system & canot update my system.Kindly help me to fix the problem. I have average knowledge of ubuntu.
